Incredible edibles

YES!!!

Jordan Grader–our Nom-aste contributor up in San Francisco (and one of my best friends and favorite people)–has launched a site focusing on elegant and easy food for healing, Love+Nomz.

Jordan is an inspiring individual in a number of interesting ways–I’ve always known her to be obsessed with creating community, delving into complicated social issues, and bringing spiritual ethics into daily routine.  And, as I discovered long ago while she was breaking locks at 3am one morning to get to the sorority kitchen freezer to access cookie dough, she loves food.

These qualities turn out to make her an excellent authority on ways to eat that are healthy not only for you and the people around you, but for this giant blue marble we all inhabit in space that we call Earth.

But the best part is that I’ve eaten her food, and it’s delicious.

The site is an especially excellent resource for people dealing with cancer or eating disorders – she provides an approachable template to a healthy lifestyle with recipes galore.

Follow her for a subscription to recipes and share, share, share!

Nommmmmmmmm.

Making Green Greener

If you haven’t noticed yet, we’re all about keeping things green over here at C pur. Although our TPE mats are recyclable, biodegradable, and toxic free, we decided to take things one step further in 2012. Recycling is great and all, but isn’t it better that we find a new use for these mats before consuming energy to break them down and turn them into something new? Remeber, one yogi’s trash can be someone else’s treasure.

Soon, we will offer a list of studios that have agreed to be a drop spot for our yoga mat repurposing program. All you’ll need to do is drop off your used mat, along with your name and email address, and C pur reps will pick it up and donate it to someone who can continue to use it. Where your mat will be donated depends on the condition. Gently used mats can be donated to places like the Aviva Center in Los Angeles, where our local rep Caitlin teaches yoga to troubled teens. Older mats can be given to animal shelters, where they can serve as comfortable lining for dog/cat crates, or to homeless shelters, where they can add a layer of padding and love on which someone can sleep.

The beauty of this program is that you can donate any mat you no longer use, it doesn’t have to be a C pur product. To thank you for your donation, we will email you a discount code for any online C pur purchase! Whether you’re in the market for a new mat or simply have a few old ones laying around, you can help someone out and give yourself the gift of something new to compliment your practice. Stay green and share the love!
